Blue Almonds and its owner Iza Minkiewicz are great supporters of Great Ormond Street Hospital and this weekend's fundraising ‚Valentine's Party‚ provided ample opportunity for us to get involved again. Not only did Blue Almonds donate a very generous prize in conjunction with artist Javier Atela, but Iza has worked tirelessly to secure auction prizes from high profile donors, as well as advertising the event and selling tickets. All of the money raised from the party will help fund private en-suite bedrooms as part of the hospital's redevelopment. The new, state-of-the-art facilities will make cramped and outdated wards a thing of the past, providing privacy for patients as well as space for parents to stay comfortably by their child's bedside. The party was a great success with 450 tickets sold, a thriving auction and plenty of activities for children and adults alike. Blue Almond's owner Iza and her son Filip had great fun taking part in activities such as t-shirt, valentine's card and plant pot design, cookie making, and spending cherished time together. While we await the final fundraising total, Iza would particularly like to thank the Wesley Hotel, The Greenhouse and Bo Lang for their contributions, as well as everyone who attended the event, bought raffle tickets and bracelets, bid for auction items and supported this worthwhile cause.
