Life on the Move: Kira’s Second Trimester Lifestyle and Travel
As Kira’s pregnancy moved into the second trimester, she didn’t slow down completely. Instead, she found new rhythms — adjusting her travel style, focusing on wellness, and listening closely to her body’s needs.
Travel While Pregnant
Kira has always loved travelling, and pregnancy hasn’t stopped her — though it has changed the way she approaches each journey.
During her pregnancy, Kira has travelled to:
- Egypt (Week 6)
- Kos, Greece (Week 12, solo)
- Mallorca (Week 14)
- Madrid (Week 17, solo)
- Grenada (Week 20)
- USA (Week 21)
- Romania (Week 26)
- Paris and the South of France (Week 28)
She explains:
“I’ve had to adapt my travel style quite a lot, especially solo trips. There’s not just the physical fatigue but also the mental fatigue that has been tricky to navigate. Just like in fitness, I’ve learned to slow down. I can’t do as much as I once could in a day — but that is okay.”

Kira now plans her days more gently, making space for naps, bringing snacks, and making sure meals are scheduled so she feels her best. And she’s not shy about accepting help:
“As someone who is pregnant, a lot of airlines will let you board first. I’ve taken advantage of that — it makes a difference to be able to sit and makes the trip a little easier.”
Wellness and Movement
Staying active has been important for Kira, though she’s adapted her routine to her pregnancy.
Some of her favourites include:
- Prenatal Pilates at Avalon Studio
- Ladder App Prenatal Team workouts — “functional and pregnancy-safe, they help me feel strong without strain.” https://www.joinladder.com/
- Walking with podcasts — a simple way to keep moving while learning or relaxing.
She’s also paid more attention to her oral health
“It’s the foundation for a lot of other elements of your health. I floss, use a waterpik, and I’m trying to keep up with checkups — which are free in the UK during pregnancy and for a bit afterwards too.”

Slowing Down and Listening In
The biggest lesson Kira has learned? To slow down and listen to her body.
“I nap when I need to, and I try not to compare myself to the pace I used to keep. It’s about supporting my body to feel its best.”
That mindset has guided her through travel, work, and wellness alike. The second trimester has been a chance not just to keep going, but to redefine balance.
As Kira’s journey moves into the third trimester, her focus begins to shift — from exploring and preparing to rest and readiness.
